文化不和谐可能会蔓延到一个广泛的社会文化范围，可以获得不同的领域，如经济，政治，教育，学习方式。对于不同领域的文化不和谐进行了大量的研究(Choi et al.， 2008)。Edwar Helican曾写道，可能存在一种与缓解文化适应压力相关的可能性，与之相关的破坏性行为可能具有土著意识，可能与价值和身份相关(Barrett, 1988)。

Dissonance is a term which means a lack of agreement to a culture. There may be differences in the agreements between two people in a number of issues. Cultural dissonance may be defined as the uncomfortable sense which may include discord, confusion, disharmony or conflict experienced by the people in a given cultural environment.
The cultural dissonance may spread to a wide social cultural scope which can be acquired into different fields such as economics, politics, education, learning styles. There have been a number of researches conducted on cultural dissonance in different fields (Choi et al., 2008). It has been written by Edwar Helican that there may be a possibility related to the alleviation of the acculturative pressures and the disruptive actions related to them may have an aboriginal sense that may be related to worth and identity (Barrett, 1988).
The dissonance in the culture can be experienced by each and every party which is the part of the interchange in cultures (Harry, 1992). It has been accepted by many psychologists that in the conditions where there is cultural dissonance, the people in an educational institutions, they may also be vulnerable to some of the educational disadvantages (Allan et al, 2002). As a result of cultural dissonance, the people may have a negative impact on their education and their development. In addition to this, the tendency of cultural dissonance may lead to the tendency of resorting to the ethnocentrism. It may also lead to the creation of erroneous interpretations among the behavior of the parents (Lee et al., 2004). This may lead to the misunderstanding between them and the school of their children. According to Gorden and Yowell (1999), a major risk factor surrounding with the environment is the need to influence the culture. Culture dissonance is a major risk factor for the people.
