Gloria Jeans is among the biggest competitor of Starbucks, not only offering more or less the same services, but also sharing similar attributes in the target customers. However, the key difference can be highlighted with the space of delivering services. Further ahead, a significant role is played by national culture in the process of decision making for any business with respect to localization or standardization. Therefore, the business of Starbucks has been facing significant loss in the market shares because of standardizing the delivery of services in comparison with Gloria Jeans. For Starbucks, change in the core brand will turn out to be a drastic change not only in terms of the business, but also in terms of the target customers across the globe. In such a scenario, there is more viability for looking at innovation to serve coffee to a large segment.
