Lotteries are a way to finance public goods. Lots of profit was found to be garnered by using the lottery services (Franke, & Leininger, 2012). The lottery system works when a number of people invest money in lottery ticket and from random sampling any one ticket is chosen and the lottery money is given to that person. The buying of lottery is not a sure investment however (Kotchen, 2007). Majority of people buying a lottery will be subjected to loss. Maybe few people out of thousands will be awarded the price money (Morgon and Sefton, 2000). The people buying the lottery hope to win the ticket there is no rational explanation if they would actually win. Since there is no rational explanation in buying the lottery there can be no explanation provide as to the behaviour of the people buying the lottery. Some of the reasons for buying a lottery can be explained that the person has a gut feeling that they will the lottery, many people buy lottery as a form of entertainment. Since majority if the lottery ticket is issued for some causes (Lange et al, 2006).
