With regards to this particular movie, it can be said that women are found to be quite independent and strong but the critical issue is that they never challenge the power structure of the current gender. Several examples could be associated with this. Carrie is independent and strong but she is in the same period of time relied on a man. There are numerous scenes within the movie which demonstrates she is highly submissive towards him.
