Currently, ISPs or the internet service provider which are generally the telecomm provider or the telephone companies act as the internet backbone. From the studies conducted in the past it has been seen that the internet is becoming bordered as it is splitting apart. Moreover, it has resulted in eliminating the intermediaries, but it has also been argued that it has not removed the intermediaries but it has changed who they are. The government in the recent times tend to threaten the local internet intermediaries within the national borders which enable the local internet users to consume the offending internet communication. However, if more and more restrictions are implied on the internet then the basic use of the internet would be lost and it would become harder to find information on it (Jay, 2005). The government by taking control over the internet has the power to monitor people’s daily activities which in a way means that they control people. One of the famous example is China, where most of the websites are blocked for the citizens and most of the content which is available is censored. The censorship of internet is becoming a global phenomenon. Another example is Australia where the government has the tight over regulating postal, telegraphic and telephonic services.
