The collaborative project plan was briefed in the report prepared by the team which collectively illustrated the research techniques, interviews and analysis of data along with process, services and output. As a strategy to complete this project, we decided that the team will be divided into two so that we are able to save more time for completing the project. The initial group was aimed at conducting an investigation into strategies to be used through the same company for improving children’s experience of swimming (Riley-Douchet et al., 1997). The next group was responsible for exploring the solution for the questions of research on tendencies for the group of children aged from 6 to 12. It was decided that if needed, we will explore through the use of SWOT analysis as a tool. This tool will allow us to gain the knowledge regarding strength, weakness, threat and opportunity with regard to the activity of swimming from the perspective of children.
Till this stage, the team was able to individually set its objectives and goals that allowed us to make decisions regarding research strategy to be selected. I suggested using data collection through data collection instruments such as questionnaires and surveys. The idea was accepted with an aim on surveying 150 people. The research results will offer an insight into the main research questions and this will help the team to understand what can be done in order to make sure that more children come for swimming.
The overall experience of working on this collaborative project has remained a unique one for me and I wish to be given more opportunities to work in team. I have always been an individual performed but in college years I had gained good practice regarding team work. That foundation helped me to excel when conducting collaborative project as well. I would like to learn from the mistake that I have committed this time working in the group, such as wasting time regarding reaching a decision for the group, etc. (Riley-Douchet et al., 1997). Conflict in future will be completely avoided by me. I am looking forward to completing the research topic that was given under collaborative project and wish to be able to analyse and identify through idea generation. My weakness within the group was lack of confidence to accept when someone rejected my idea. Forming ideas in pressure situations is essential and I still need to furnish my skills regarding the same. The collaborative project has not only added something to my experience but also helped me to understand the extent of research and analytical skills required when working in a team. As a future vision, I aspire to become a team oriented person wherever possible as globalized world economies require different cultures to work together, and collaborative project has added a strong foundation for this vision.
