The lack of education or low education level of women in the rural areas has clearly considered having the greater disposition of illness. The women in the rural areas of China are living in unhealthy conditions and living an unhealthy lifestyle. The lack of access to healthcare services and low socio-economic status are the major burdens (Tang et al., 2008). One thing which is common among the women of India and China is their social status that impacts their health. The rural women in India face the family based discrimination in the allocation of household resources, such as food, education and access to healthcare. One significant difference found in the women of India and China is that Indian girls also face the burden of early marriages that impact their physical and psychological health (Hariharan, 2016). The health of women in rural areas is also affected due to lack of direction and support. Also, the health related behaviour of the women living in rural areas impact their health and well-being. The gender, education and smoking behaviour in the men and women living in rural areas of China was analysed. The findings of this study displayed that women in rural areas are less likely to smoke than men, but the level of education is higher in men. This data also revealed that Chinese women are more price-sensitive to women living in rural areas of developed nations (Wu et al., 2004).
