The main problem which UPS was facing was about recruiting 25, 000 employees in next five years. The other major problem of the company was that its traditional classroom driver training was not working as about 30% drivers of its total workforce couldn’t make it to the training program provided to them. The problem of the company was not only the recruitment of drivers. This problem give birth to other problems such as getting the right candidate as per job description is a  quite difficult tasks as the company is working in many countries and all around United States. Therefore it needs competent drivers who can make up to the expectations of the company and keep the name of the company high by delivering high quality services for which the company is famous.  Another problem is the huge number which is needed to be recruited as it comprises a significant part of the workforce of UPS (Prabhakaran, 1998). Even the duration which the company is having for making the recruitment is also short as with such a heavy work load of transporting 15 million packages and documents in different parts and concentrating on the recruitment and training of 25,000 new recruits is not an easy task.
