The approach of inquiry learning is main current approach in scientific and mathematical education while relating the undertaking investigations of children for answering individual questions (Beatty and Gerace, 2009). The interactive approach of learning mathematics and science with legitimate queries for discovering the answers. As per this approach, the questions of children result in explorations and the role of educator lies in providing resources and scaffolding or guiding the explorations. The teacher has to support the establishment of ideas from children, while asking focused queries, suggesting alternate thought process and helping the development of response from children (Boaler, 2015). The limit of offered support by the teacher depends on the complication of investigations, availability of resources and the age of the children, including the knowledge of the teacher.

In this approach, the teacher presents a specific problem for children in small team and time is allotted to them for solving the issue. It is an approach centralized upon individual child and the teacher has to help out the teams to discover facts, assist learning and establish ideas (Siraj‐Blatchford, 2010). Children have the option of challenging their ideas while the teacher is always present for resolving their issues and doubts. This can become a continuous process with the addition of new information to current facts supporting the occurrence of better thinking. Solution to the issue cannot be considered as the most significant aspect, instead, it is the most significant learning process involving child directed inquiry. Effective issues are the one engaging the interest of children and motivating them for probing an in-depth understanding about the scientific concepts (Campbell and Chealuck, 2015). In this approach, education plays a small role in solving the problem as they only consider the stimulation of learning by providing support and seeking questions effectively.
