The environment that many business entities operated is primarily an organization incorporating employees, managers and customers. The stakeholders of any business entity collectively comprise of a community defined by an organized structure. The structure operates under well-defined rules and principles of engagement. The utilization of the existing business environment structure defines a governance system that cooperation is established. The structuration theory principally defines an organization that resembles the business environment. As earlier stated a business environment can only thrive through effective communication systems. Clarity of facts and information regarding products and services are fundamentally important to the establishment of a successful customer to business relationship. The rules of engagement and the decision making processes are well articulated by the governance systems.
The Organizational Information Theory advocates for refinement of information aimed at making sense out of an ambiguous command. It is within the power of any existing prospective business organization to market its products and demystify any ambiguity or misconceptions about the products or services on offer. Where misunderstanding, dissatisfaction, lack of employee morale, customer disorientation towards services and products are witnessed, and the honors is upon the decision making agencies to resolve any misunderstanding through effective communication and restoration of customer confidence (Richards,2005). The theory on organizational information is therefore fundamentally applicable in business. Any entity that is geared towards improved customer service must thrive to settle any disquiet either from employees or the customers but acting on the communicated issues. Open channels which grievances can be communicated and addressed are therefore important. Giving equivocal information sense and meaning is therefore necessary since this undertaking restores confidence and boosts productivity.
The theory of structuration may be tested through studying the behavior around any structured institutions such as companies, schools, governments, football clubs and recreational entities etc. A case study on a renowned business entity such as apple may put meaning to the structuration theory. Recently there was a judicial challenge on the privacy of apple mobile phones where the federal government of US wanted Apple Inc. to assist the Bureau of investigation to access a mobile phones data through hacking but the company objected. Apple declined to comply because it wanted to ensure customer privacy and product confidence in the markets remains high. This is a typical case of a structured environment with specific and precise rulesof engagement. It would be quite informative to do a comprehensive research based on the structuration theory on the Apple Inc.
