In spite of the growing complexities and changing dynamics some managers are found to thrive. On analysis of the traits of effective manager it has been founds that they have the ability to teach, direct, assess, volunteer and cause change (Suutari, 2002). Honesty, arduous commitment and active analysis of operational process of the company are hallmarks of these successful managers (Sosik, 2005). Technical skills and IQ are one important component of being an effective technical resource for the company. Apart from this, managers should have the ability to deal with personal emotions and have empathy to become an effective manager (Reichard, & Johnson, 2011). Emotional intelligence and having people-management skills are imperative for any kind of growth (Wolff, Pescosolido, & Druskat, 2002). Reason for them to be effective manager is because they continually challenge themselves and become efficient in the process (Sparrowe, 2005). From this, it has been understood that individual objectives and setting personal targets are important. These individual objectives should be practical and reasonable.
All the above-mentioned factors essentially prove importance of self-development and awareness. Individuals should continually retrospect and evolve based on self-analysis and feedback analysis.
