Free jazz was coined in the year 1964, from the recording of Ornette Coleman where a new thing was described in the jazz which developed around that time. There is little or scanty understanding regarding jazz as music amongst the music fraternity at large. The less amount of information available could largely be due to the fact that there is absence of intellectual path or there is very little room for critical analysis which is otherwise a part of the other serious forms of art. The improvisation which has happened to jazz in recent times around the 20th century has seen that the styles of traditional analyses have been grossly defied and there is no written information regarding it through which various scholars can make efforts for transcription of music so as to tackle the various difficulties which are otherwise inherent to music which is based on recordings only. Very less attention is paid by the jazz musicians as well as the critics of jazz music towards free jazz as they do not like or approve things which are otherwise mated out in untraditional ways or techniques. Especially with regard to jazz, they do not want to make any compromise and are stringent about it. They would rather not have jazz consideration in any form, rather than subscribe to modern forms of jazz. They don’t consider this as free jazz but rather as anti jazz. This view point is very stringent and needs little changes with changing times and evolution and improvisation of music.
