Analysis of Key Issues
There are certain issues countered by different heavy industries. But the above examination has shown that there are some key issues which are faced by almost every heavy industry on the globe. The key issues which are common to all heavy industries are discussed below.
Challenge of Maintaining Global Green Community
The first issue which is faced by almost every heavy industry is that the environment of the world is getting worsen with time. In such condition, the garbage, discard, and emission from heavy industry is polluting and damaging the eco system even more. Heavy industries emit certain gases which are toxic to the atmosphere and tend to increase temperature of the planet. Moreover the non- biodegradable mass discarded from heavy industries ends up at landfills and marine debris which causes toxic chemicals in sea which pose a serious danger to marine life. For example, the key issue in steel industry is to control over carbon emissions from steel manufacturing industries as well as properly managed discard of water to ensure healthy aquatic habitat (Sheldon, 1994).
Difficulties in Producing under Polluted Environment
If environmental problem is viewed from another angle, the aquatic pollution is harming the global fishing industry. Destruction of water bodies through impoundment and making underwater channels, and erosion of soil are creating serious barrier towards success of fishery industry in the world. There is another major issue highlighted by FAO that is aquatic hydrological manipulation. The chemical properties of river and lake water is transformed or manipulated in such a way that it harms aquatic habitats and thus affect fishery industry. The example of chemical industry shows that, Moreover, certain raw materials are difficult to attain due to addition of impurities in natural resources and thus chemical industries have to pay increased rate for the raw materials.
