Tectonic tradition is a sustained practice followed by Glen Murcutt and Donovan Hill. They both have shown their display of projects reflecting tectonic tradition, but Glen scores much higher in his display in a bespoke style by using a lot of timber, louvered roofs, and designing the product in a way as if looking unfinished and visually looking more open than enclosed. The connection of the structure with earth is also soft and is made to create eagerness since it occupies a lesser area. Donovan Hill however has not completely embraced the tectonic ideology, or rather there is little scope in displaying in an urban project. Nevertheless, with its limited showings by using timber colour looking tiles, keeping the rooms transparent to get maximum light, using timber-lines in rooms at the edge, and behaving inclusive with the landscape inside the lobby, it displays a commendable tectonic tradition.
