There are many types of people in the society. Few do these charitable deeds out of egoism to show self importance and various others are doing it out of altruist motivation. I believe leaving a demarcation or giving a percentage for the said population in each type would be difficult. This is due to the reason that people have been celebrating these deeds of charity by showing that they are giving and creating importance for others. Getting into insight and the thought process of others is really very difficult. There are few people who feel these charitable deeds have to be performed to satisfy their consciousness. Whereas many others believe that other people need them. It is of utmost priority that they have to be satisfied and made happy due to their inner altruist motivation. It is not possible to find out the kind of motive that the other person would be having while performing these deeds. It could only be revealed by speaking with him and understanding his point of view on why he has been doing such activities. This would not be possible in case the direct question is being asked for revealing the fact. There are certain indirect questions and experiences that must be shared with them so that he also expresses his concerns and view points on them. In case he will be doing it with altruist motivation then he will only speak on the satisfaction, happiness and compassion for others. On the other hand, he would be talking about himself and his inner peace while doing these deeds then this means he has been doing them due to egoism.
